Privacy Policy
This policy describes how StreamDesk handles data when its operator connects Twitch or Google/YouTube accounts to the Windows desktop application.
1. Scope
StreamDesk is a privately operated Windows desktop application. This policy applies to data accessed by StreamDesk through Twitch APIs, Google OAuth, and YouTube API Services.
2. Google and YouTube data StreamDesk accesses
After explicit OAuth authorization, StreamDesk may access data needed for its in-app YouTube dashboard, including:
- the authorized YouTube channel identity and public channel information;
- live and upcoming broadcast information and stream status;
- live-stream health/status information exposed by the YouTube APIs;
- live chat messages and related live-chat events;
- information needed to perform operator-requested actions such as sending chat messages, editing permitted broadcast metadata, or changing a broadcast lifecycle state.
3. How the data is used
Google/YouTube data is used only to provide StreamDesk's local streaming-dashboard functions. StreamDesk does not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, or sale.
4. Storage and security
OAuth access and refresh credentials are stored locally on the Windows computer using Windows Credential Manager. StreamDesk does not operate a remote StreamDesk account server that stores the operator's Google/YouTube OAuth credentials.
API data displayed by StreamDesk is used by the local application to provide the dashboard and
streaming controls. StreamDesk is designed so that credentials are not placed in the normal
settings.json configuration file.
5. Sharing
StreamDesk does not sell Google user data and does not intentionally share it with unrelated third parties. Data is transmitted to Google/YouTube or Twitch as necessary to make the API requests explicitly required by the application's features.
6. Revoking access and deleting credentials
The operator can disconnect a provider inside StreamDesk, which removes the locally stored credential and performs a best-effort provider-side revocation when supported. Google access can also be revoked at any time from the Google Account's third-party connections/security settings.
7. YouTube API Services
StreamDesk uses YouTube API Services. Use of those services is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
8. Changes
This policy will be updated if StreamDesk's handling of Google/YouTube or Twitch data materially changes.
